How do I qualify for a Member rate?

The 2011 European Sympsium is an event for all packaging professionals. As a benefit of membership, we offer discounted rates to current ISTA members for all of our educational events. Simply enter your ISTA Member ID when registering online and you will automatically receive the Member rate! You must be a member of ISTA to qualify for the member rate. If you do not have your ISTA Member ID, please contact Lisa Bonsignore at lisa@ista.org.


What are the options for payment?

Payment for the registration fee can be made by credit card, check, wire transfer or money order.

We accept American Express, VISA and MasterCard.

Checks should be made payable to ISTA.

Can I transfer my registration?

Registration is transferable. Please contact Oana Ciuca at oana.ciuca@itene.com as soon as possible if you need to transfer your registration. After registering for The Symposium, if you have no replacement and need to cancel the registration, you must do so in writing by fax, mail or email, to be received no later than 5:00pm EST, October 14, 2011, to obtain a full refund of registration fees less a $100 administrative charge. After this cancellation deadline, only 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.


Can I cancel my registration?

What is the Welcome Cocktail Reception?

The Welcome Cocktail Reception will be held on Monday- October 17, 19:30pm at the Ayre Astoria Hotel (suggested hotel for the attendees). This will be an excellent opportunity to meet and network with the attendees of the Symposium along with savouring typical Spanish and Valencian cookery.

The Welcome Cocktail Reception is free to registered attendees Guest Tickets will be available for an additional cost of 23 €. (VAT included). Guests must be pre-registered to attend.


Are guest tickets available?

What is the cell phone policy?

In order to make the educational sessions at the Symposium beneficial for everyone involved, we require all cell phones be turned off or set to vibrate while in the general session room. If you must leave the room to take or make a call, please try to do so at an appropriate time so as not to disturb the speaker or attendees around you. Breaks are planned throughout the day to allow you time to check for voice mails and return calls without disrupting a presentation.


What is the laptop policy?

We understand the need to not be separated from your laptop, but we do encourage proper etiquette if you must bring your laptop into the general session room. Please be courteous of the people around you, turn off any sounds and keep typing to a bare minimum during presentations.


Where will the registration check-in be?

Registration will be available at ITENE on the morning before the Symposium begins on Tuesday, October 18. Registration will not be available at the Welcome Cocktail Reception on Monday, October 17.

What is the hotel reservation deadline?

There is no deadline to make your hotel reservation but the rooms are available on a first come first served basis. We highly recommend that you make your reservations as soon as you register to attend the Symposium.


What is the hotel rate?

How do I get from the airport to the Hotel?

The nearest metro station is Colón. There is a distance of about 500 metres from Colón Station to the Hotel - approximately 8 minutes walking. (Suggested Route: Calle de Don Juan de Austria).

Attendees should use either a Taxi or the underground from "Aeroport" station to "Colon" station. Please see the route by visiting www.metrovalencia.es .


What is the dress requirement?

Business casual attire is appropriate for both attendees and speakers for all daytime Symposium activities and the Welcome Cocktail Reception on Monday, October 17. More formal attire is appropriate for the evening conference dinner on Tuesday, October 18. Since meeting room temperatures vary, we recommend you bring a sweater or jacket to the sessions.
